[RESOLVED] Shaking and cutting trees, but no seeds??

I've started a new file after not playing since before the update, and I noticed I couldn't get acorns for a while. I shrugged my shoulders and thought it was just a glitch and might fix itself. After a couple IRL days of playing, not a single tree had dropped a seed. I like to use them to make the field snack to take in the mines, but now I can't. Anyone got any ideas?

Really? None at all? Hm...

They're not 100% guaranteed, so it's POSSIBLE that you could just be having a really bad RNG streak, but ... that does seem unlikely.

Is it just Acorns? Or are you having trouble with Pine Cones and Mapple seeds as well?

Ahh.. pay attention to Living of the Land (TV show), they'll tell you when Salmonberry season starts, you can pick up a LOT of Salmonberries in the two or three days they're in season, and those should give you some supplies for the Mines.

Yes, but you have to get to level 1 for it to happen. You start at 0

I don't know if this is new, but I think you get more seeds at higher foraging, because I noticed I ran out of seeds like crazy before level 5 foraging.

Same. My last game i could barely get any of the seeds from the tree you tap for making kegs (acorn?). Besides the 6 I planted I had maybe 10 stored in a chest, while I had hundreds of pincones and pretty much 100 of the other.

Either they tonned it down for that one tree or I had some massive bad rng that game.

I've been having a heck of a time getting acorns also, and I'm at level 8. I have hundreds of pinecones, but acorns are getting so darn hard to get. I planted my last 5 hoping to shake some frome the trees and after 2 seasons of shaking, I only have 1.

It started with acorns, then maples disappeared too. It SEEMS to have fixed itself though....

I think maybe that was it because it seems to have fixed itself...

I think you have to shake the tree before it 'drops' the seed onto the ground- other than that you can pull them off the ground with your tools, so long as they haven't sprouted.

also you won't get tree seeds once you have leveled up in foraging in mid day. this is a bug what happend to me a few times -unsure if fixed atm- but it should only affect 1 day.

I used to think that too, but Ive gotten seeds on the first chop.

In both my playthroughs I have noticed imbalances with tree seeds. Maple seeds and Acorns are roughly equal (and relatively low in number) but I have waaaaay more pine cones. I think it may just be that Pine trees are more common. I save stocks of the other seeds and use alot of the extra pine cones for my personal timber forest.

On my first playthrough I didn't fully clear the farm until year 2 so I had extra wood for days, but in this one I'm on riverlands and cleared the whole farm in the first spring and chopped about every tree on the map and I'm still buying lots of wood :/

It makes sense. One tree in RL can make alot of pinecones.
