is time mod an essential? (slow time mod)
Days feel too short without it. You just do one or two thing and bang! It's bed time!
is it immersion breaking?

What do you guys think?

imo, yes it's breaking the game, especially if this is your first run and you're nowhere near late stage. you get too focused on doing chores instead of experiencing seasons & events go bye. the charm of first playthrough is planning for each season and unlocking new stuff, which will take forever if you're trying to do everything in a day.

Imo time mod goes well if you're only planning for decorating stuff or idk doing some niche farm and if you got plenty of additional map area.

edit: typos

I used that mod a little because I felt like the events and other stuff were a bit "forced". I mean maybe I don't like attending to that event. I was feeling forced to attend.
But now I don't want to use it anymore because it bores me. I don't know what to do.

For me no, it is not essential at all. There really is no need to rush in this game the way I see it. I like to plan which I find both fun and a bit challenging depending on what I want to do for the current/upcoming season. Only time I have felt the need to slow down time is when I am decorating, but even then I am usually fine with how time goes by :)

Nah its fine the way it is. Set goals and get them done. Game is pretty much endless so there is no need to rush through it. Most people have gotten through everything the way it is so its not really a problem. Manage your crops in the morning then go out and do what you plan on doing that day.

I'd go so far as to say you're doing yourself a disservice using that mod.

While it's true that the day cycle is relatively quick, my theory is that it's done that way on purpose. In other words, this game tries to deviate from the normal cycle by saying 'the day is over, and THAT'S FINE'. The main storyline/feeling the game tries to get across right off the bat is that you're supposed to relax and enjoy yourself - there are no penalties (aside from playing the game longer) for not getting things done that day.

There's another reason for this too that's a bit more concrete. There's a few mechanics and items that work on multi-YEAR cycles. So by using that mod, you run the risk of slowing the game down enough where you potentially finish/burn out before you even see some of the content the game offers later.

If you're set on mods, I'd be happy to recommend some non-immersion breaking ones, but IMO that time mod wouldn't be one of them.

I use it just because I want to do a lot throughout each day, or maybe I just want to mess around and be OCD about something without worrying about 'going unconcious' because the time got too late. In real life, I can stay up for over a day at a time; but ingame my character just goes unconcious at a certain time.

Kinda meh, but that's the one mod that I absolutely want to use; if only for my gameplay style and what I want out of the game.

Honestly I wish you could stay awake as long as you had energy. should just drain energy rather than just pass out at 2am.

While I still think that the current system works the best for this game and the message it tries to get across, your idea def is my favorite farming mechanic style. Games like Littlewood use that to great effect!
