Candles won't light at Grandpa's shrine...
We are now in year 4 and just discovered on the wiki that you can get the statue of protection at grandpa's shrine. We should have more than enough points to get it but not a single candle is lit. We never got a cutscene or anything in year 3. This is our first playthrough so we're still discovering new things and how stuff works.

I tried giving a diamond to the shrine so he will reevaluate us, but I can't. When I try to it just shows the magnifying glass that gives me the name of the shrine and doesn't take the diamond.

Anyone know how to fix this? What am I missing?

Are you the host? I don't have any personal experience with multiplayer, but based on what I've read, only the host can redo the evaluation and get a Statue of Perfection in a multiplayer game. I believe all players present should see the initial cutscene on Day 1 of Year 3, though farmhands would presumably never see it if they weren't present at the time.

If you're not the host, I would suggest having the host try giving a diamond to the shrine. If you are the host, perhaps have other players try offering a diamond to see if the game has somehow marked the wrong player as the host or something.

If all else fails, you could at least get the Statue of Perfection using an item spawner mod, but I'm not sure if a mod could be used to force the evaluation to trigger or automatically light the candles.

I see. Yeah, my wife is the host, not I. She didn't try it. I'll have her give it a go and see if that works. Thanks for the advice. Fingers crossed!

You were right. Only she was able to see the candles and give the shrine a diamond. Worked like a charm, thanks!
