Slow start?
Hi yall! I've tried a couple of times to get into this game, since everyone says how fantastic it is, but I find the start to be kind of...dull? Not very compelling? I dunno. Is it just kind of a dull start or is the whole game kinda this...slow-paced?

I don't hate it but I'm kinda making myself play rather than feeling internally motivated to keep going.

Thanks in advance for answering!

I think you find it slow since you cannot do a lot in the first days but next you'll even be too busy to do everything you want. You should keep playing and if you are looking for a more dinamic gameplay then you should definetly play with a friend in co-op, I assure you that days will fly.

You should keep playing and exploring/progressing in the story.

the game is definetly not slow
you will soon find out that you never have enough time to do all the things you want

Give it an in game week. If you still aren't feeling it it may not be for you. But it takes about that long for most things to become available to you.

Well, it is a slow start. You start off with an overgrown farm and knowing no one and most of the game is locked away until a later date. If the idea of slowly building up a farm and getting to know the community around you is boring then the game might not be for you.

If anything, i was the opposite. I loved the beginning but then I struggle to find enjoyment once I know everyone well and have a ton of money. Luckily they added in a bunch of more content for 1.5 so i have a ton to do still.

I mean, it is a farming simulator, and it gets as fast as you would expect, the mid-game is the best part of it like the people above pointed out. But after that the game goes back to having nothing to do, you already have max affection with all NPCs your farm is decked out, only farming and skkiping days since you don't need to farm for no items since you already have everything, by then you should install mods to have something new, hunt all the achievements, or rebuild your farm and make it prettier. But at tha point you are just playing the game to play the game.

The entire game is pretty "dull", since it's essentially a game where you do the same things again and again. You unlock more things over time, but the base gameplay essentially stays the same (minus whatever you can automate), and stuff just becomes more efficient.

To some, this is a satisfying and relaxing way to spend their time, to others it's a grindy slog that's not at all enjoyable. Most people fall somewhere in-between, and it seems like you fall more on the grindy slog side of things.

If you're still below the 2h mark and you really don't enjoy the process, you may consider refunding, otherwise maybe continue playing for a while and see if the game catches your attention over time.

That all depends on what you are actually doing. Especially at the start, you have more things to do than you can manage.

Always plenty to explore and folks to talk to. The more you do the more stuff opens up for you.

It's a farming game. Being more slow-paced is part of it's appeal. It's a really huge game (even without any mods), there are lots of different things to do and to discover, but it always stays a bit slow-paced and repetitive. You'll usually spend the first minutes of your ingame-days doing nearly exactly the same routine. Some people like that it's calming, relaxing and charming, while not being completly without strategical appeal. Others think it's a boring grind.

Hey y'all, I wanted to double back and let you know that I seem to have gotten stuck in this time around. I'm really enjoying the game and wanted to thank you for your advice/replies! :)
