Is finishing the community center in 2 years pretty good pace?
i'm personally proud of myself for finishing it quickly, but what do you guys think.

On my opinion, Finishing cc in year 2 is good. The most difficult´and time consuming thing to get for it is definitely the quality crops bundle. so yes year 2 is really good

Congratulations! I think it's very good and you should feel happy with that accomplishment. On my first playthrough I think it wasn't until the end of the third year before I finished it. Nowadays I usually finish it during the second year because I like taking my time and don't want to rush. :Pcow:

Yes, regardless of how many times you've done it finishing before year 3 is always good if you ask me. So congratulations on finishing it.

It's pretty average if you're actually trying to complete it.

Well, you're not really in a race, I am able to finish it by spring, year 2, but everyone should just play at his own pace, not comparing yourself to others, its a chill game, not a competition, just do whatever and whatever pace and enjoy yourself.

thank you guys for your opinions! Also the bulletin board was a paaaaaaaain. That dang rabbit's foot eluded me forever lmao
First playthrough without any guides it's probably amazing. A huge number of people won't have made it simply because they never found the secret wood. Also first playthrough there's a lot of characters and you don't their habits so tracking them down for deliveries and birthdays is difficult. Also at the outset you don't know what their likes are and usually don't have what they really want at the outset. The update helps a lot with records of characters likes and dislikes and secret messages.

For me the biggest pain was always the aquarium - resorting to the Wiki to identify where and when to fish and truffle oil - 16,000 gp for a pig is a lot of gold in game before your farm is fully functioning, you have to wait most of a season from a pig to start finding truffles and then they don't find truffles in winter so it's mid spring the latest to get your pig. Rabbits also take a long time before they start producing rabbit feet.

Generally to get the community centre finished before the end of year 2 usually means you had to know exactly what you were doing and maintain a degree of focus.

I doubt whether very many people would have ever won the game under the first version which ONLY gave you until the end of year 2 and also required all Starfruit - still not caught every fish and still not found every artifact - missing a couple of Dwarf scrolls for a start - to win..

S.x.

Baring a lucky buy from the traveling merchant or absolute insane skull cavern rushing ( red cabbage seed are rare drop in the skull cavern. ), finishing it in the second year is kinda standard.

Now you can forget about the bundle system forever and stick to the almighty Joja Cola since it's superior in literraly everything :
- it's completion is easier, quicker, has nothing to keep tracks of & non dependant on season
- it grant a much better shop access since Joja Cola is open every day ( unlike post community center Pierre who sometime takes days off and go to ginger island ) & it stay open later.
- Auto-Petter are easily available in Joja Route while in Bundle route, they're rare drop which are a complete pain in the RNG to get
( - It also prevent Shane from becoming unemployed, if you care about him )

Pierre is also open 7 days a week after completing the community center and you can still shop even if he is visiting the resort at Ginger Island. Auto-Petters are indeed rare drops outside of the Joja route but they can also be found in treasure rooms in the skull cavern (I have got a few myself this way). Shane losing his job doesn't have to be a bad thing even though he express he doesn't like being unemployed. But he also mentions that if he could have a reset he would like to start a chicken farm. Him losing a job that he also said he hated could be the "reset" he needed to follow his dream. It's just a bit sad that the game didn't develop his arc further. :brownchicken:

I mean... he DOES start his farm. His 6 heart (or thereabouts, I don't remember precisely when it triggered, but it was around there) event has him show you his blue chickens in the barn. Those events and JoJa are kind of separate, sure, and I wish they were a bit more integrated, but still, the fact remains that Shane does go ahead and do that, so it's clear he'll have something going on even with JoJa's closure :)

Right! Totally forgot about his Blue Chicken business. I just wish the game would have expand more on this, but it's not like I'm running low on imagination. Still, would have been fun to see the business expand and grow. :brownchicken:

Hell, I'd have Robin build him a house and a new barn in a corner of my farm if I could :D

how does someone gain relationships with their animals to yield large products?

By petting them. Every day. Forever.

Later on you can also acquire an auto-petter, but until that point you're on your own. Unless you install the mod that gives you a farm helper who'll pet them on your behalf for like 100G per day or something, assuming it's still updated and working.
