Disabling mods so i can play co-op. HELP

I cant join my friends in co-op cause i have mods installed that our contradicting the code (i think). How do i fix this?

Remove everything from the mods folder?

Or if you want to play with mods later, just cut and paste the contents of the Mods folder into a separate folder and go play your co-op. Put back the contents later after you have had your fill of co-op.

The problem with that is that one crucial mod that i have installed is interwoven into the game that allows the other mods to process smoothly (SMAPI). But after i posted this i found out i can still host games though not all the mods are seen or used by the other players. Still though something that still needs to be checked on so that users with mods don't have to do all that work to join in a vanilla multiplayer game.

Alternatively, you can leave the folders as they are and launch the game without SMAPI. Two ways: 1. by changing the SMAPI launch options, OR 2. leave the options alone and launch the game via the 'plain' executable in your Stardew files. -> From Steam Library, rt-click Stardew Valley > Properties > Local Files tab > Browse Local Files.. there should be two executables: the one with the chicken icon is the plain game, the one with the pufferfish-chicken icon is the SMAPI one.
If you make a desktop shortcut of each, you can launch with or without mods, as you wish.

Has anyone tested this out and had positive results? I'm trying to play with my friends without any mods and I'm gonna try this out
