What's the best way to get a prismatic shard?

Hey, I need a prismatic shard to get married with my friend in the game, but actually it is so hard to get it. I have 10 rainbow trout, the quarry, I'm fishing a lot and mining too but nothing, 0 prismatic shard.
Does anybody know a good way to get it fast? Thanks

Buy load of omnigeodes and turn them at Clint - there is like 0.4% chance for one.

Skull Caverns.

There are multiple objects there that have a fairly decent chance of giving Prismatic Shards (25% from Mystic Stone, 4% from Iridium vein, 4% from random chests) and you can easily get out of there with a few dozen Omni Geodes which also have a small chance (1/250) for a Prismatic Shard.

I wouldn't recommend relying on vendors for Omni Geodes as they only sell 4 a week.

I think there's also a chest with a prismatic shard in the top of the volcano dungeon. But overall the skull caverns are your best bet. Also, if you bomb the ♥♥♥♥ out of it you'll walk out with a lot of omni geodes too... Though I never found a prismatic shard in one :P

You can use tool like Stardew predictor to see how much geodes is needed. It can be just few.

If the odds for a prismatic shard in a geode are 0.4%, then you should get one in every... 240 geodes, I think? Theorethically. RNG can just be a ♥♥♥♥ and not reflect that prediction. Anyway, it's a lot of geodes. I prefer blowing the Skull Cavern into smitherens and trying for a prismatic shard that way.

Stardew work with randomized seeds that stays for savegame, it is not new roll at every single geode.

Eg. I am just in new game and my prismatic shard will be in 24th omni geode I will open (good chance this will happen even before reaching skull cavern)

I always get a few in Skull Cavern. Using the standard strategy to get Iridium ore.

go as deep as you can in the skullmines.

use crystalarium to generate quartz (pretty fast production) and trade the quartz for staircases @desertvendor, and go down to lvl 100 with your food and weapon, and if you dont find a prismatic shard in like an hr or two of farming i'll be shocked.

Skeletons in level 71-79 of the town mine have a chance to drop them as well and pretty easy to do at least 10 or 15 floors if you start early. I've gotten a couple this way basically just farming for stones and geodes on those levels.

Also you will get geodes for more chances. Octopus pond can also produce omni geodes for more chances.

The trader sells stairs for jade, no quartz. It's only in sunday too.
