as for transferring saves, the wiki has some documentation on this[stardewcommunitywiki.com].
i would be very nervous about doing this with versions of the game not in sync with content releases, though.
I'm concerned with the combat controls.
In the PC version of the game, attacking is a vector movement, You attack left, or right, or up, or down, or diagonally.
The original mobile version of the combat controls appeared to be targeted instead of vector. I'm skeptical that a more target based combat system would work well for me, even if everything else does.
I used touch and its absolutely fine
I started on android before becoming addicted and buying it for PC. Combat has an option for 'auto strike' so if a mob gets in range it auto swipes the weapon in the general direction if you're standing still. Doesn't take as much away from the combat as you might think, I found it quite pleasant to play. It also has an option to auto-select the appropriate tool if you have it in your hotbar, so click on a rock and it selects the pickaxe, touch a log and it selects the axe. Along with the 'save on exit' it has, there's quite a few quality of life adjustments in the mobile version to make it fit better on a handheld.
I really enjoyed it on my phone, but I do prefer it on a big monitor if I had to choose one.
Good reply, i feel the same way.
