Is Mobile version worth it?
I have an iPhone and I would love to be able to play on the go, just curious about core mechanics and how it feels in general on mobile? Is it easy to transfer saves/manually save it on the cloud? (Google Drive, etc.)

How are the controls? You play with controller or touch? You don’t feel like rushing with the game? Since you play without keyboard and mouse...

the most recent content isn't on mobile yet. aside from that, it's pretty much equivalent.

as for transferring saves, the wiki has some documentation on this[stardewcommunitywiki.com].

i would be very nervous about doing this with versions of the game not in sync with content releases, though.

I’m aware that there’s no newest update on mobile. Which version do you like the most, Steam (PC) or mobile? I have a Steam version, but just thinking about getting the iOS version for a while now...

i’m playing on the ios version and i don’t have any complaints, the game runs smooth and the touch control is very responsive. I prefer the mobile version because i can play on the way to work.

How about saves, you’re backing up them? Since there’s no Cloud Saving feature... And as far as I know the game saves progress the time you leave the app?

I'd actually be interested in having an iOS version of the game, but ...

I'm concerned with the combat controls.

In the PC version of the game, attacking is a vector movement, You attack left, or right, or up, or down, or diagonally.

The original mobile version of the combat controls appeared to be targeted instead of vector. I'm skeptical that a more target based combat system would work well for me, even if everything else does.

i have to say i disagree with a lot of the people in these comments as someone who's logged almost 600 hours on my laptop and find the ios version tedious and combat and fishing impossible. i don't have an ipad, just an iphone, so i might change my mind if i had a bigger screen.

I just recently bought the game on my iPhone and I can tell so far that the fishing is not that bad, but combat is definitely not good. I also bought regular mountable controller and I'm missing some controls and mechanics from PC gamepad mapping.

I know some people who find it easier to play on mobile because you don't really have to aim or anything. But I think it is an established preference because he started there.

I started on android before becoming addicted and buying it for PC. Combat has an option for 'auto strike' so if a mob gets in range it auto swipes the weapon in the general direction if you're standing still. Doesn't take as much away from the combat as you might think, I found it quite pleasant to play. It also has an option to auto-select the appropriate tool if you have it in your hotbar, so click on a rock and it selects the pickaxe, touch a log and it selects the axe. Along with the 'save on exit' it has, there's quite a few quality of life adjustments in the mobile version to make it fit better on a handheld.

I really enjoyed it on my phone, but I do prefer it on a big monitor if I had to choose one.
