If you have a lot of crops to use in preserve jars or kegs that something that gives you money. Animals is one thing too

Animals, greenhouse. And I think you can plant out of season stuff on island? Didn't get there yet.

You need to have access to the island but yes, it isn't subject to seasons so you can plant everything you want. It's basically a bigger greenhouse far away from your farm (though warp totems and the obelisk make it really closer).

What I do, I grow a ♥♥♥♥ ton of blueberries in the summer and cranberries in fall. Then I put them in preserve jars. Its like 150g per jar every 3 days. Having like 10 jars in year one winter gives about 1500g every 3 days which is my money source. I then go mining/fishing (which you said you dont like). There is also animals and the greenhouse (you really need to know what you are doing to get greenhouse year one winter)

ok thx for advice. maybe i should try looking for the new island. greenhouse is a bit too small. usually when i want to make money i prefer crops over animals since crops make more money and also i skip days by going to sleep and don't wandering around. animals are good, but they don't generate goods if i skip the day, right? correct me if im wrong.

Winter forage seeds. Get one one of each forage and turn into winter seeds, you'll get 10 crops. You'll get 2-3 of each forage item, and you'll get enough to make 20 seeds, rinse and repeat, selling off whatever you don't convert to seeds. You can get 3 cycles if you plant on the first of winter, or 4 if you've got agriculturalist/speed-gro. By the end of the first winter you can have at least 40 crops going, more if you forage aggressively in cindersap/around the lake. If you're using the vanilla CS you'll also get 30 seeds for the winter forage bundle to get you started, or you can put winter roots through a seedmaker. It can take a couple of years but you can eventually have hundreds of crop spots going in the winter. Also if you've got the Botanist profession all forage pickups are iridium quality and a big field of winter seeds can yield enough seeds to replant plus tens of thousands of gold.

Animals give fairly consistent profits.
Mayo, Duck Mayo, Void Mayo, Cheese, and Goat cheese will generally ensure you're keeping a minimum of 4-digit profits each day.
And if you've bought an Auto-Grabber from Marnie, it speeds up the process drastically.
(You just run in, empty the grabber, pet the animals real quick, get out and chuck everything into processors (aside from Iridium Milk, it's worth more as is).
Then just go do whatever you want after that.)

Even fish ponds can help a little, such as with Sturgeon. It takes a couple days to process in jars, but Caviar sells for 500g a pop (700g if you have the artisan bonus).
Even regular processed roe sells for a decent chunk of change.
And unlike animals, you don't have to feed them or anything.
-----

But if you have the greenhouse, then you'll really start pulling in the profits.

I'm currently growing 8 units of hops in my greenhouse, I run them through kegs, and sell the pale ale, which generally takes about 2-3 days to refine.
(Hops process in the kegs faster than fruits, including ancient fruit)
As a result, I'm often getting close to 8-15k every day, mainly from the ale (and the animal products and caviar/roe).

This.

If you have the bonus that gives Iridium quality to all forages, that also includes any winter forage crops you happen to grow in your field.
Sure, they're not ancient fruit, but they do grow fast (even without the speed-gro), and the profit margins adds up fast, too.

And it's not like your fields are doing anything else during the winter.

mods i guess

Yeah, Winter Forage seeds are very cheap to make and you can double the amount every time you harvest, without even having to go to Pierre's. If you're not maxed on Foraging yet it'll probably get you there, and then with the extras on pick-up and everything being Iridium-quality, you make some nice money.

It's a lot more boring than fishing or mining, though.

yeah, winter forage... Once I expand my farm with spinklers I am able having even soemthing like 500 seeds at time and it adds up quickly..

Things like greenhouse or kegs/jars/animals is something you do voer whole year...

On the side note I really dont uderstand this topic again and again - like how you are playing the day other seasons? You are watering crops from morning to evening or what? I am trying leaving my farm around 10 am every day for whole year and dont find winter to be so much different to other seasons (only new wood can nto be get)

I feel like winter is a good time to gather materials. Not so much making money, you have all the other seasons for that, but a good time to build up your infraestructure. You need materials to process stuff and make more money after all.
I'm also told the Skull Cavern can be really lucrative, and winter is a great time to pay it a few visits.

Animals, mining, fishing, forging at the beach with the tiller. Animals is probably best bet though don't expect much. Use it as your time to upgrade the farm, build/upgrade sprinklers and save money for spring seeds.

re: winter seeds:

in addition to growing them just for their results (which can be great, especially if you have botanist), you can convert 2 winter seeds into tea saplings, which sell for 500g each

peak theoretical profit from selling the four ingredients that go into making 10 winter seeds is 1720g (that's assuming you make crystal fruit wine and age it to iridium, and have both the artisan and botanist professions)
with those four ingredients, you can make 10 winter seeds, which yields 5 tea saplings, which sell for 2500g

you do need to have wood and fiber for that to happen, but wood happens to quite completely grow on trees (even in winter if you use tree fertilizer), and fiber seeds grow in winter without any particular maintenance (they don't need watering, and don't care about season).

edit: above strategy does admittedly depend on a few things: you need caroline's event to get the tea sapling recipe, and you need to do linus' special order to get the fiber seed recipe (which in turn means you need it to come up).

For me it depends on the year I'm in. First year? I'm usually still wrapping up the mines (getting to level 120), finishing community center bundles, cutting lumber, etc. I'm using each day to get a check mark done. Usually by the second or third day of Winter I'm unlocking the Greenhouse which means I start planting crops.

Second year on? Greenhouse. Animal chores. Hitting the skull cave. Now, hitting the island. I just unlocked the new Island on the 4th day of Summer, 2nd year and I'm hoping to save enough cash and drops to get the obelisk that let me warp there (and figuring out how to get the obelisk to warp to the farm).
