Best Fish for the Fish Pond?

I'm currently thinking on which fish are the best to keep around in the fish ponds. I'm not too interested in using the fish ponds to make money. I'm also not too interested in any that have like a 0.1% chance at a certain reward (looking at you Rainbow Trout).

What I'm considering right now is Stonefish and Octopi. Octopi for Omni-Geodes and the Gold/Iridium Ore they contain, and the Stonefish for the semi-regular Geodes to be used as filler between the good Omni-Geodes.

I do the stonefish as well. Catfish can be good if you need stuff to give to willy still. Some of the fish want coral and I always sell them so I have a tank of coral on standby as well.

Other than that it's for the roe aside from those that have the real low chances for the rarer stuff. I'm good with those, current game seems lucky with 2 owl statues in year 1

your plan sounds good enough to me. but a few interesting ones:

>Super cucumber has a chance to give iridium ore
>Sea cucumber can be cooked into lucky lunch (+3 luck)
>Snails can be cooked into scargot or give you beach warp totem, if left alone
>Crabs can give you trash and some beach forage and ONE pearl from Willy, once full, also, beach warp totem or just cook into crabcakes
>Squids (both types) give you ink
>Blobfish (instead of oyster, because reasons) have a chance to produce pearls and farm warp totems
>Lionfish can give you taro tuber and tiger slime egg
>Blue Discus can give golden coconuts
>Stingray can produce magama cap, cinder shard, dragon tooth or battery pack
>Ghostfish can give quartz, natural or refined (the natural one only requires 3 fish)

if you already have access to the area added in 1.5, you should include the 3rd fish listed in the spoiler above, because look at that loot pool (no pun intended).

don't forget that ice pips and lava eels can also produce ore and geodes.

My top five are:

Sturgeon - Their roe, when aged, becomes caviar. Which is worth 500g. :]
Lava Eel - Though kind of hard to catch, they're worth a whole lot!
Super Cucumber - Has a chance to give you iridium ore!
Blobfish - Their roe, when aged, is worth 560g, if not aged it's worth 280g. They can also give you pearls and warp totems! :]
Rainbow trout - they can give you a prismatic shard (Though the chance is very low, 0.09%)

well before this update I was going with a pond of rainbow trout for the prismatic chance, a pond of blob fish for farm TPs, a pond of sturgeon for the theatre and money, a pond of coral for the beach TPs, 1-2 ponds of super cucubers for iridium, 1-2 ponds of lava eels for pointless gold and such to roll around in... all of these work well.

since then farm TP seems less useful and stingray have dragon teeth... so take ur pick :P
