Curiosity/Quality lure utility?
Just wondering, are these trash or amazing for fishing? Where are they most useful?

For example...

- Would using the Curiosity Lure give you mostly blobfish and less seaweed/squids during the Night Market? If so, that'd increase profit by a lot! When I last went to the NM, I got ~4 (~4k profit) blobfish and 10 (~2k profit) midnight squids. If I'd have gotten 10 (~10k profit) blobfish and 4 (~800g profit) squids instead, I would've made an extra 5k per night. Nothing amazing, but still decent.

- The Quality Lure would guarantee highest tier fish, if you can catch them... so it'd be useless for things like legendary fish or octopus or other difficult fish, compared to bobbers that make catching them easier.

- Does the Curiosity Lure make encountering things like the lava eel much more common, effectively reducing the trash you reel in? Or does it work in that, when the game decides you've caught a fish, then it decides between giving you a sardine or a super cucumber?

- If the previous is true, would this buff any uncommon fishing areas? For example, the Witch's Swamp is mostly algae, but some void salmon, for 337-450g per fish. If, for example, your algae:fish ratio was 80:20, would the Curiosity Lure change this to be more like 50:50? 80:20? Or does it only affect other fish, like slimejack vs. carp?

- Do either of these beat out other lures, such as the treasure hunter, or a lure that makes catching fish easier? For example, the Quality Lure would be good for fish like sturgeon or catfish, that you can reliably catch, but are still tricky to catch. It's essentially giving a small buff (+33%?) to somewhat tricky fish, but has no effect on easy fish like carp.

Just unlocked the Quality Bobber, but didn't really have time to test it. I tried it for one catch and was confused when the fish (I think it was a Pufferfish) came out gold-quality like the few other ones I had caught just before. I thought maybe getting a Perfect is the only way to increase quality past gold, but then it would make this tackle virtually useless. I'd have to do more testing.

Haven't gotten the rare fish one yet. If it could bypass trash it would be fantastic, which is why I suspect it would only change the odds when a fish is selected, not when the game decides if it's going to give you trash or a fish.

In any case I would also be very interested in knowing how these work.

Wasn't able to get Iridium legendary fish with it, so it's still skill and luck dependant, I guess. Gold seems to be max for non-perfect catches.

Ah, so I didn't imagine it, then.

Unfortunately this means that the bobber is pretty much useless. By the time you get the recipe for it, you'll already have been getting gold-quality fish virtually all the time anyway, even without them being Perfect catches.

That's unfortunate. The only real use would be in a select few areas like the Night Market, then, where you can normally only get silver tier I think...

Yes, that was my thought exactly. A few rare locations where there's no option to go for high Fishing Zones.

The most relevant I can think of is getting a gold-quality Angler... it's the only legendary fish that you usually get in silver instead of gold. If you're kind of OCD and want all your legendary fish to be gold-quality, you'd use the lure on the Angler.

Heh, maybe that other bobber is useful.
