A few end game tips that might be useful for your playthrough
Those are tips that I found might be useful for the 1.5 version of the game

1. After just unlocking ginger island, you might be getting some fossils on the island through digging, mining, etc. Although these are not listed as artifacts and cannot be donated to the museum in the valley, don't sell them or throw them away like I did:(. They will be useful when you unlock more parts of the island and some of them are quite rare.

2. You need golden walnuts to unlock different parts if the ginger island. There are guides in the internet about how to collect them all. If you have trouble finding them, you can read them, but I think trying to find as many as you can before jumping into the guide will be more enjoyable than just looking through those guides straight away.

3. There is a forge in ginger island that you can upgrade your galaxy weapon to infinity weapon. The upgrade requires galaxy souls which you can exchange at the QI's room with 40 QI Gems (end game currency). But there is another way of getting those galaxy souls without spending any QI gems. I didn't know it before I upgrade my galaxy sword and now I have 17 extra galaxy souls which I don't have any use of (upgrade only need 3). Also upgrade your galaxy weapon maintain all of the enchantments. The most useful enchantments I find are Crusader and plus weapon damage but I will leave you to decide what enchantments you like the most.

4. Ginger island is a really good place for fishing. You can get lava eel, which is the most profitable fish for fish pond plus pretty valuable to sell. You can also get those fish that make the +4 fishing skill dish. And ginger island does not have seasons so you can fish them on whatever day you want.

5. The most end game items are those you can purchase at the QI's room. After getting all the recipes and a few very useful items, consider dumping the rest of your QI gems on deconstructors. What deconstructors do is to "Destroys crafted items, but salvages their most valuable material.". You can deconstruct things you don't use to get some material back but more importantly you can deconstruct staircases to get a huge amount of stones and deconstruct grass starter to get huge amount of fibers. You can get staircases from desert trader (use Crystalarium with jade) and you can buy grass starter from Pierre's. You can also use stone and fiber to craft tree fertilizer to get a lot of wood and hardwood quickly.
However, if you are going for 100% completion, save 100 QI gems.

6. You earn QI gems mostly by doing QI quest (the other way is to kill enemies in difficult mine and skull cavern but this way is slow). One of QI quest is to reach the bottom of the mine again with the mine elevator reset. What happen to me is when I enter skull cavern, the quest is completed immediately. I think this is a bug that should be fixed.

Hope those are helpful and enjoy your playthrough

AfaIk internally the mining floors are continuosly numbered :
The Mines are floors 1-120 and skull Cavern starts with floor 121 until ca. 2 billion ...
There was a bug in some old version which allowed to jump from Mines Floor 120 directly to Skull Cavern Entrance.
