i also cant seem to find any missing snake pieces besides the skull.

Does anyone know where to get the one that he gives you the hint about great fishing? I can't figure that one out.

I know that one of the bones is obtained through panning, and I believe I did get one of my bones through fishing too. As in, I just fished it up like it was a piece of trash. The Mummified Bat is from the monsters inside the Volcano and the Mummified Frog is from destroying shrubs in the Jungle area where Leo lives.

Hardest bone piece for me was the damn skull, since you gotta hope the Golden Coconuts pull through for you. But keep at it; finish all the exhibits at Professor Snail and you'll get a NICE reward.

And I'm not just talking Golden Walnuts, either.

Any ideas where I can find missing bone fragments?

I'm missing only snake and this big cat-like animal. I found dozens of snake heads (mostly through fishing) but i can't find other parts. I never found any bones throug panning either. I'm also missing two upper bones from second large animal - I alreade collected head, spine and legs.

if you ask him for a hint he gives you relevent hints only to what pieces u still need, i think the parts you need are ribcage which im pretty sure i got smashing rocks at digsite and tail which i cant remember, tilling artifact slots gets some too, cant remember which

i found the tail for the big cat-like animal through panning in the river at the dig site and fishing
i found the 2 legs mining the bone stones thingy at the dig site
and i found the ribs by digging up artifact spots near the docks/resort and mining the bone stones lol

i started to find the snake spines around the area where birdie is located (which makes sense bc professor snail says you'll find them to the west of the island)

OK, immediately after starting the game, I dug up snake's spine on the beach, south of the farm :)

i read that by breaking rocks you can get the bat too, but i tried that AND killing monsters.. do i just gotta grind killing monsters in the volcano and ditch the breaking rocks bit?

I've been looking for the 2nd snake vertebrae on island west for quite a while now, but I'm not seeing any artifact spots spawning there anymore! Completed this challenge otherwise. I just read the other day that a lot of people were experiencing this a while back after one of the updates, but if it were a bug I'd think it would be fixed by now since that was like a year ago?? But I seem to be getting this glitch too now :( Anyone else having this issue?

it's just RNG unfortunately
I now try not to plant any crops on the island until I have the snake vertebrae's as this leaves the most space for artifact spots to appear.
On my last 2 saves the first one was just like the luck you are having, wasn't even seeing the spots let alone finding a vertebrae when I dug it up. My most recent save I got them within days of each other with lots of spots to dig, it's the bat that is being a pain on this save

the missing one (snake vertebrae) that is hardest to find for most people is found in an artifact spot on the west island farm area. It appears down near the shore in the bottom right corner of farm area. ,,, the day on or after it rains.
Once I learned where to look , I found it rather quickly.

yes there is one obtained panning in the dig site river,
There is also one fishing of the shore up near the entrance to Qi's cave.
And there is one fishing in the pools on the beach of west island.
