Tbh the most interesting asymetric aspect I found on the river farm was that you can spam rice shoots, which don't even require sprinklers as long as they're near water and can be turned into milled rice very easily, overnight.
You probably misread the patch notes.
The beach map becomes very imbalanced if you remove its one real down side. It has way too many bonuses compared to even the multiplayer map which is already a bit imbalanced compared to the others.
It's a bit like asking why not make the rusty sword hit as hard as the galaxy sword and just let the players decide if they want to use it or not. It's just fundamentally unbalanced to the point it would be poor game design.
They'll spawn anywhere along the beach, same as shells. I believe the darker sand area is more or less the spawn area, as you can't plant anything there.
This is my thought too. The beach map is perfectly fine for a small garden in the normal dirt area + greenhouse + animals, and then you have all its other bonuses. I've used the same playstyle on the forest farm, it was perfectly fine and this map is even better for it.
If it really ruins someone's day that they can't make their 300th ancient fruit/starfruit wine farm on the beach, just wait for modders.
who ever wants to use sprinklers on the beach map, just go grab the mod called....
