A small rant of festivals/events
I'm sure that it's been said somewhere already but let it be said again. Festivals have a lot to answer for! Busy with my fields and show up late at like, 2:30 PM and the thing is done.

I show up and then I don't get home until 10pm? The hell happened? Did I get abducted by aliens on the way home? Is that where my missing time went?

Next we have the Stardew Valley Fair... An awesome event... An event where you can actually eat the food! Not even at the Feast of Winter Star... Y'know, the event that calls itself a friggin' 'feast', can you actually partake in the eating! ...Or at the egg festival, flower dance or anywhere else with a table full of food!

The real important question is; when are we getting the update that allows us to eat up and be happy at festivals? Perhaps the same time that Mayor Lewis comes clean about the existence of aliens plaguing the valley? XD

For the record, this rant isn't a rant and mostly just a joke, though they are still some questions worth asking. :D

I too dont like the time loss after festivals, but with the CJB cheat mod, you can change the time of day to get your afternoon back.

I hate that the preparation blocks the entire section of the map. Like, I'm just walking, keep your ♥♥♥♥ out the road.

With the expanded mod you can actually interact with the tables loaded with food on
the different festivals. A message box will pop telling that you basically stuffed yourself o.o

As for the time loss, this is how I have always looked at it. You get to the Feast of Winter Star for example, and the clock showing the time suddenly disappears. When you get home it is very late and dark outside. That is an indication showing how much time your farmer actually did spend at the event, even if you didn't. You follow me? I'm not sure how else to explain it, but for me it isn't that strange at all when looking at it that way.

The preparation block is a bit annoying though. I wish that would have worked differently. But I guess it kinda makes sense when you look at the Spirit's Eve festival for example. I mean a large portion of the town is completely remodeled. But I don't understand why the entire Cindersap Forest must be closed off and reserved for the Flower Dance. That is taking place in an area that is normally closed off. Edit: Typo :brownchicken:

Well, basically, it's a cost to attend.

It's not so much about how much time you WANT to spend there, it's that attending the event (whichever one you care to discuss) has been evaluated (by CA) has having a cost, in time, to you.

Time per day is one of the currencies (or resources) that you have to work with. The passing of time is one of the things that makes it a game, rather than just a simulator.

annoyingly they never change, and everyone just says the same thing. I don't know why i have to keep doing the silly dance or collecting eggs,.. we're not children. and nothing changes in the Halloween maze.. not even repositions of the villagers.

I'm starting to think the valley is stuck in a time loop but i doubt if it ever suggests then towards the end of the game?
