For the love of god the Prismatic Slime % chance needs to either be buffed or a guarantee spawn.

I get it's already been buffed once but there is absolutely nothing fun about this town quest. The only way to do it is either get extraordinarily lucky or just enter the same floors over and over for in-game days at a time. Make the slime an uber boss monster to compensate or something. There's no reason this has to be this way.

I have always found ti without any problem, usually between floors 100-120.
To buff up your chances , eat a lucky lunch and wear a lucky ring.

spam floor 5, it's small so if you zoom out you can see the entire floor + it can only spawn slimes/flies/crabs. i tried it with floor 85-95-115 too but honestly thosedon't spawn slimes that often while there is usually 2-5 on floor 5.

it's annoying but at least you only gotto do it the one time.

I don't think it has to be changed. I usually stick to the strats that has already been mentioned and it always shows up sooner or later. Last time I did this quest I encountered two prismatic slimes so I got two jellies! I was quite happy to have one as decor in my home ^.^ But after giving the other jelly to the wizard and by that completing the quest, the gorgeous jelly in my home just disappeared the following day! ò.ó

I think there is plenty of time to finish the quest if you just plan a little and accept the challenge at the beginning of a new week instead of in the middle of the week or even worse at the end of the week which would only provide 1 day to complete it instead of 7 for example. Just a helpful tip. Totally get that it is annoying for some people but I don't think it needs to be changed just because of that. I think it is a nice challenge :)

it's not a challenge though (even tho the slime itself is fairly tough). it's a grind.

the chances of finding it in a week with normal play are too low to realistically expect to complete the quest.
spam resetting the mines does not require skill, is boring, and most importantly "creative use of game mechanics".

gotto be somewhere in between. make it 2 weeks. or make it so every 100th slime orso you see is guaranteed to be prismatic, that way it's actually realistic with normal play.

i felt much more of a challenge when i got the collect 24 eggs in 2 weeks quest when i didn't have a coop. that slime quest was, okay its day 7 of the quest and i haven't found it despite doing normal play in the mines every day, time to google how to find it and then just reset the day till i got it.

Well I disagree and I see it as a challenge. I am not even sure what "normal play" means here but I suspect it is very different from player to player though. I have always found this slime within 1-2 days dedicated to mining and even without resetting the mines. That is partially why I accept the challenge as early as possible, so that I can dedicate a couple of days to just mining.

some times you get quests from the message board that cant be completed where you are in the game. I have seen quests on the board for catching fish that are only available in the winter, when I was playing in Spring.
If you are really early in the game, indicated by the fact you dont have a coop, then you may not be ready to find the prismatic slime. Some things only appear after certain times in the game, ie: second year, etc. Several items/events are tied to a time line of story.

Just to brag a little...a couple of days ago, I got the prismatic jelly on the second slime I encountered. Then I did the ectoplasm quest, and got that on the third floor down. Luck was on my side!

It's one of those things where if you have average luck its time consuming but not a big deal, but if you have a run of bad luck it gets ridiculous. I think I did this one before the update, but I had to do the quest 3 times to get it. The first time I was admittedly half-assing it because I was busy so I only put in a couple of evenings worth of searching. The second time I went at it with some real gusto. I spent all my non-essential time hunting the accursed thing. The third time I used every trick in the book, neglected the night market and birthdays etc. and spammed the elevator without mercy. I finally got it like 2 days before the deadline on my third try.

All in all, I killed something like 300 slimes and got most of my way to a burglar ring trying to catch the evil thing. It was a ridiculous time sink. Thankfully, I was wise enough to multi-task and did an extermination quest for Clint and hunted dust sprites while searching for the rainbow menace but I should not have needed to go through hundreds of slimes to find this thing.

that's why it's like a legend in the game. Each their own haven't down that guest yet so can't say for myself. Plus it's the first time one a file that I even have that quest bord I think.

I found it in the Skull Caverns after like 7 floors, nearly missed it because I thought it was just a regular one, then it changed colour. It took me two days to find it I think. I wasn't paying attention to the day.

Guess I got real lucky, found it within a minute or two on the frozen floors of the mine. Was a good luck day + food though.
