You can indeed put fishies on signs. Simply by holding one and interacting
with the sign will put it on there. Have done so a million times ^.^
And btw if you put them in a sign post you can see how many fish you have in each pond, automatically.
I'm really using them for meals i just started collecting personal favourites

actually you dont need to put a fish on the sign, just put a sign on the pond, and the fish will appear on the sign.
Sturgeon is the best because you can make cavier from it's roe, which sells for alot.
Squid is good also because you need it in a recipe and they can only be caught at night. Saves you staying up too late.
I haven't any dragon teeth or cinder shards from my stingrays yet, but the pond is not full.
