Level mining fast

I read that breaking rocks gives you experience in mining. But also people said that only the grey rocks give xp, but someone came back with breaking any rock increases the skill. So which is true?

There's an exp amount for the type of rock you mine, but in a nutshell, mine those that has ores and minerals, they provide much more exp than standard rocks, said standard rocks some types provides even none of the exp.

By they way, it doesn't matter the way you mine rocks, if you use explosives to mine, you get the exp regardless.

I was told that mining ore and gem rocks always give XP. The gray stones which give 1-3 stone give XP. Normal rocks do not give XP, unless they give coal (and maybe a geode?) Those large boulders which give 10 stone also give XP.

Generic stones outside of the mine give 1 Exp each, the generic ones inside the mines do not.
