Quarry Mine (Possible Spoiler Alert)

So I am in the Quarry Mine. A message says "This area is overrun with monsters". No rocks bare floor and just monsters. So i kill them all. Then a message says "A way down has appeared". But I could not find a ladder or hole to go farther down. Glitch?

Not necessarily. The ladder is supposed to appear at the spot where you killed the last monster. However if it can’t for some reason (killing an enemy who is outside the wall such as a bat for example) then the ladder to go down will appear directly in front of the ladder to go up. At a glance you may not see this since it really looks like the ladder is just 1 tile longer.

Yes normally this would be the case; except this is the "Quarry Cave" mine which until now has only had a single floor. I had looked in front of the ladder to go up, and also where i last killed the monster; and still there is no new way down to be found; Yet a message appeared repeatedly saying "A way down has appeared". Exiting the mine and returning did not reset the floor. Then on the next day everything had reset (was no longer an infested floor).

Has anyone else encountered a "overrun with monsters" floor in the Quarry Mine?

Ok, so I had assumed you meant skull cavern and just happened to misname it but now apparently I find out there’s a whole freaking cave there and I never knew about it until now?!?

No idea what to tell you then since it looks like there should only be the one floor. I would lean toward glitch. Also, thanks for informing me of this cave’s existence:)

Glitch, yeah. You can't plop a staircase down in there. It's technically on the same map as the normal mines, I think, so I guess the game just gets confused sometimes.

Run to the end of the mine and touch the statue. It's the way out. You do not need to kill all the monsters.

Yes this still works to exit the mine by touching the statue.
The confusing part was the Message "A way down has appeared."

Yet, this mine has only one floor. As I Kinda Fail pointed out you can't plop down a staircase in there. There is no apparent way to go farther down.

At first I was hoping it was some new updated Quarry Cave content. A secret second floor?

Then wondered if it was part of a planned update to the Quarry Cave which was meant to be added at a later date?

Or just a fun glitch.
