I can't feed my animals with aramanth

Hey guys, I am trying to feed my animals with aramanth, but I can't do it, someone could help me? I already tried to put aramanth in the barn, but nothing happened. Do you have any clue why it's happening and also have any tips for me?

You can only feed hay to the animals. You can't feed amaranth or apples, even though they're in the fodder bundle.

Yeah, unfortunately only hay counts as animal food. It'd be nice if an update made amaranth, cave carrots and apples boost friendship with animals.

What made you think you could feed them with anything but hay?

It's because Marnie said if you give aramanth to your animals the friendship will increase faster than hay, or something like this.

It's just from one of her quest lines and doesn't really affect your animals. Confusing but it only works for that particular quest.
