Playing with a controller to move the character around and do stuff

Says controller supported but in all playthroughs with controller there's a mouse cursor.

I'm looking for a chill 2D game, could have mining and farming, be a platformer or anything where I move the character with the stick or D pad and menus and stuff work without a mouse pointer.

Does this do that? Otherwise maybe suggest alternatives (if it's allowed here).

The mouse pointer is for precision. At least when I play it on my Switch, you play the entire game with the joystick to move. The right analog stick controls the pointer, and is more useful for a few interfaces or aiming diagonally. I'd say the game is 5% better with keyboard and mouse, but a controller works just fine.

If memory serves, on Switch, the mouse cursor only appeared when you used the right analog stick. Otherwise, it disappeared after a few seconds, or when you went to another screen. (Like from the bus stop to the town.) Whenever it DID get on my nerves, I just hovered it in the bottom right corner, where I didn't have to look at it.

You might want a 2nd opinion, as maybe the PC version plays differently for some reason, but the Switch version only showed the mouse cursor when you wanted it to appear.
