how complete artifact collections...
Just need last few artifacts that have <1% chance to spawn and I am tired of checking their areas...

What is better - farm geodes and buy artifact troves or focus on treasure fishing?

With treasure fishing, you're not always guaranteed an artifact or gem.

I don't really know how artifact troves work, but if they are a guaranteed drop then you already know whats better. They are pretty expensive however, I don't remember what they cost, but I know it's definitely not gold.

It's really up to you at this point, would you like to spend a lot for a guaranteed drop of an artifact or just take your chances with fishing?

what are you missing, it really can be just luck unfortunately

If you are truly sick of waiting for them...

Stardew Predictor can tell you exactly what's in the next several hundred Omni Geodes, Frozen Geodes, Magma Geodes, Standard Geodes, or Artifact Troves you have the blacksmith process, depending on the order in which you do so, allowing you to stock up with geodes you don't care about and make sure that you open the right Artifact trove for the number that will give you the item you want.

As well as providing a host of other information about your save.

Actually Bone flute is the most.

missing green doll too, but that one is likely for tilling mine floors and Dino egg that has solid chance from pepper rexes.

bone flute was a pain for me too on one of my runs
Green Doll is from a secret note so fairly simple - I won't spoil it
As you say, Dino egg is either Skull Caverns \ Pepper Rexes or Fishing but I have dug one up in the mountains before now

This is interesting indeed.

Just for my understanding could you elaborate a bit if I understand correctly - so there is unchanging seed for my game that can be pursued? Eg. I found artifact I want will be in 10 troves. So I open 4 today, it is lowered to 6, other (real) day I will open 6th trove my desired item will be there for sure?

or this samehow change each time game is restarted or something?

You understand correctly. The seed for your game makes a lot of seemingly random things not random at all. So for example, you can open any geode on any day in any year and the contents will be exactly what the predictor says it will be. If the 10th geode is clay, the 10th frozen geode is coal, the 10th artifact trove is a treasure chest, make sure you have an artifact trove in your possession before opening the 10th one no matter what day you open it, in any season.
This goes for mine info, traveling cart, and all that listed on that page. Night events is also a big one.
Personally I was disappointed when I came to know how un-random this game is but I've gotten over it and use it to my advantage at times.

As Carmah mentioned, this is correct.

And if you know the item you want would be provided in an Artifact Trove 10 openings away, you only have to purchase one Artifact trove. You can open 9 geodes of any type you don't care about, just have an artifact trove for the tenth one.

The game does not care when you acquire the Artifact Trove. Only the random seed of your save, the type of geode or trove you are currently opening, and the total number of geodes and artifact troves you opened before it determine the contents.

So btw I have finished it shortly just with artifact troves - needed only about 30 of them, while in lucky day bombing through cavern I get about 50 geodes so it did nto took so long at all.

Not exactly sure all rpediction values as you are going to open the rest anyway (or you just trash it?:)

Nvm, troves are far more efficient than unreliable fishing which answer my original question.
