On topic: When you know, you know.
My first playthrough I married Sebastian, got all iridium tools, got a pretty big chunk of land, 1 of every building... I only had 1 kid, my farm wasn't fully automated (only half used sprinklers) and I wasn't BFFs with the entire town. But I still felt "done".
On this current one, I dunno. I'm hoping it holds my interest for awhile. I'm only at 9 hearts with Shane, still need to upgrade a barn twice, then get another fully upgraded barn. I still need to fill out my greenhouse. Maybe I'll make beehives and kegs and fill the town with them. But I'm not even close to being done yet.
Wonder if ConcernedApe has anymore major content patches planned (other than the co-op one)...
But yeah, You are done when you feel it is time. That is how it is with games like this. They don't really have an ending or a true end goal. It could go on forever if you want.
On my first farm I finally finished finding all of the artifacts and collectibles and once I finish maxing out haley on friendship (last adult npc to befriend), I will focus on my other saves.
