Crab pots
I know this is silly, but could someone please explain exactly how the crab pots work please?
what do you use for bait and where do you put them. I have one. Thanks for your time.

Crab pots are a kind of "furniture" that you place in any body of water. Hold it, walk up to the body of water, and then click, it should place the crab pot.

Then you need to bait it. Bait can be bought from Willy, or you can make it yourself if you have the recipe. Linus also has a bait recipe that he'll teach you if you get him to 4 hearts.

Hold the bait, and then click on the trap and you should hear a ka-klunk noise and see the crap pot lid flip up briefly.

Come back the next day and the pot should have something in it (note that you do sometimes catch trash). Rebait the trap and it's set for the next day.

Put the crab pots on water edge, pond or shore. Put bait in it. You can make bait from bug meat or buy from Willy 5g per piece. Chech the next day for your catch.

It also depends on where you put your crab pots too. In the ocean you'll get Ocean type fish like lobster, crabs, shrimp, etc. For one of your fish skills at lvl 5, you can take the Trapper route (that reduces the number of materials needed for crafting one) and at lvl 10 you have the option of not rebaiting ever again. I took that route because it makes it less tedious.

ocean tends to be best for pots.
Stuff is worth more and the beach map is fantastic since it has a ton of long straight beaches where you can line up many pots (im talking like 300-400 here) and then just hold bait in your hand hold down the button and run along the rows both collecting the stuff inside the pot and rebaiting it without needing to stop or click. This is why the no bait talent is much weaker than the no trash one imo.

Combine this with linus's sashimi recipie (makes any fish even crabpot molluscs worth 75g) and the crabpot line of the fishing tree and you have a ton of crabpots all returning around 75g each and every day.
Thats pretty huge given how easy they are to make and how little time they require.
