stardew is easy to start but somtimes you gotta use the wiki. but terriria is harder to get used to off the star. btw if you play xbox terriaria look for posts people want to give you stuff
to be real i would do that. but im to lazy. if you buy stardew let me know please i want someone to play with. Also look at your mailbox every day i would exept ever quest that comes through.
Im still a new player, but i don't think there is any wrong way to play this game. I play mine just as a farmer making gold to buy the things i want. im not bothered about the time management or quests or story line. It took me 3 stardew valley years to get my sprinklers and jam making machines, but oh so fun now!! i have sprinklers and making alot of gold with jams/pickles !! So i have only been playing as a farmer, which is like 10% of what the whole game has to offer?
And when i get bored of that and have lots of gold, then i can go to something else the game offers :)
Terraria is the closest to a "survival game" between the two. So, I'd say Terraria. Stardew Valley is a lifestyle simulator (farming, fishing, mining, friendships, etc.) They're both relaxing in their own way but the nature of Stardew makes it the ultimate relax game. Terraria has more focus on adventure and combat. SD Valley is focused on farming and chilling.
Terraria did not make a good first impression on me, and I've never tried it again.
Stardew Valley, on the other hand, hooked me almost from the get-go, and has been very addictive.
But that's my experience - another person could have the complete opposite experience -- which is why I suggest trying both, if that's feasible.
