Maybe they're a 10 year old, and is just scared to play the game? Sort of like how I was afraid to play the Sims because of the fear of a Sim dying. Or that one Megaman game on the N64 where there's a boss that destroys skyscrapers and stuff, that one freaked me out.
Asking if Stardew Valley has bad/adult parts in it is probably insulting the intelligence of both parent and child, and seriously overestimating the evil which lives in video games. Kids have to grow up eventually, keeping them in a bubble is not going to help them in the long run, its best if they learn the lessons of life from you first, rather than from life itself, who tends to be a harsher taskmaster.

A good example would probably be people around your age, if you have kids and play video games for a long time. Remember Pokemon in the 90s? That EEEEVIL, Satan-inducing game that corrupted and bent children to VIOLENT means because they had to ENSLAVE AND BATTLE with MONSTERS?! The priests told us it was evil, but guess what? We turned out fine. You are questioning the equivalent of Pokemon if its bad or evil.

Children only become adults if theyre let out of the kiddy pool once in awhile.

I think there's a difference between showing a child cartoon violence, and showing a child what can be real world situations; like some cutscenes of characters in Stardew Valley. There's a stark contrast of alcohol usage in Cooking Mama, in which you add wine in a few recipes to add flavor, and alcohol usage in Max Payne 3, in which the main character is drinking in almost every cutscene, showing massive alcohol abuse.
Everyone;'s just writing wall of text's, but you're definiatly fine on this one.

Mario (NES) is far worse at times, if you understand the concept and lore.

All these posts look like walls to you? Are you 4 feet tall or something?
It is quite a kid-friendly game, but it does have a few mature topics (mostly including Shane) about suicidal thoughts and fighting against addictions. If I had a child I would definitely allow them to play it, even with the certain topics mentioned in it. Hope you have fun!

They are walls because 99% of those posts I speak about are not related to the game in general being friendly for kids, but rather speaking of specific 'mechanics'..... lol
Alright i feel like i have to clarify somethings instead of letting people assuming,

I actually wanted to know if there are gameplay mechanics too difficult and also topics that'd be harsh for a kid. Because this doesnt feel like just a farming game, it has some kind of story going and i dont know how it goes.

I also strongly disagree with some people saying this is a kids' game, i can see lots of adults enjoying it and has deeper topics that children cannot understand.

For people who say i should be playing and figuring it out by myself, i actually played the game for like few hours but there is no way i can understand what this game has to offer in a few hours, right? So that's why ive asked about the game,

anyway thanks again everyone, we are started playing it with my kid!

"Wall" isn't exactly synonymous with "unrelated" or "off-topic". Calling a text a "wall" is a metaphorical expression or exaggeration of a measure of length.
and i can see why they want to ask about the game but if ya look at the games he/she playss its a bunch of shooters. so no wonder there worried but if ur gonna stop ur kid from playing a farming game and left them play a shooter your not a good parent at all but if u do it the other way around ur semi ok juts very VERY over protected which can cause a kid to feel left out or alone and not be relatable enough making them not have as many friends and make then hide stuff from you OK STUFF like haveing a game like stardew valley and they freak out and never ask of they can go to a friends house or what not. this happend to me as a kid i barely got through middle school cuz i was bullied i became depressed i joined a group of simmlar kids they delt with the same problem i had so what im saying is let them strech there wings once and a while

Calling something a wall of text is something I personllay, do not share an opinion with on how a game should be judges as to being kid friendly or not.

Its an saying, not something 'negative' or 'insulting'.

Please, just stop this -.-

OP has clarified it.

There is no reason this thread should have gone further than the first response.

Anyone got a translation for this word salad?
Calling something a wall of text is something I personally do not share an opinion with. I also do not share an opinion on how a game should judged on whether if it's kid friendly or not.
I guess you can call it a deconstructed word salad. Ha...
