Seaweed Foraging

Hello! One of the new things said to be in the update is forageable (excuse spelling) seaweed on the south shore across the repairable bridge. Has anyone had any luck foraging here? If so, what season or weather is it found in? I have had no luck so far. (I REALLY need some though for my fish ponds..) Thanks!

I’m not sure about foraging seaweed with the update, but you can get it from fishing in the ocean, in all seasons.

Yeah that's what I've been doing. I just figured it was much slower than foraging.

Found one piece there today while walking through to the pier. First time finding one on the beach.

Usually I fish up a ton of it in the small pod on my farm an just toss it in the selling bin each time, Usually 5 minutes of fishing might net me 10 seaweed (although I use a mod to make fishing quicker)

Same; found one piece over there for the first time today, and it was early summer for me.

It seems less common than other forage, since it's worth less I assume, but I've still seen an average of about 1 per week there. It's pretty easy to get from fishing if you've got time to spare - I can usually get 10 per day.

Yeah, for me it's only been in that one spot and it's not common. It has spawned in the summer and in the winter there for me. I think in the first 2 years of my latest playthru I foraging about 10 seaweed from there. I keep a chest at the beach to dump foraged things in to keep my inventory clear and that's about how many there were in there when i finally bothered to grab stuff out of there to sell.

Night market in the winter has a very high percent chance for you fishing it up during the underwater fishing. I don't know if that would be your preference or not, but honestly I just fish it from the ocean on the odd day and gradually accumulate it.
