at each new season, you get a massive respawn of items (stones, weed, logs and all this stuff, this can also lead to an initisal "season change damage incident" to call it that way.
most dmg outside of this is caused by weeds you dont checked in Time, Weed, like Gras, can spread over night if you let it be, so if you see weed in areas near your constructions, get rid of it (nearly all tools work on weed, be it axe, pick, scythe or sword, sword and sycthe are recommended because they dont eat up stamina for that)
the damage is mostly minimal, seable only on ways and fences you build (but at teh fences it can also be the cause that they reached the end of there lifetime) if it is your fences that you fear mostly for, use teabushes instead, they have the same blocking ability like a fence, but dont decay and are not suspect to nature damage.
all you need is Caroline at 2 Hearths, and than visit here winter garden (door is in there Kitchen upper left side of the room) next day you get the recipe for the bush. that way you also get a nice extra income and a good friend level gift for most villagers (some even love Tea)
spouses randomly do repear work at the morning and tell you so, that resets the HP and lifetime of all items.
if you want an absolute solution you need the Clock from the Wizards Build Book, and that cost Millions.
Basically, keep a "moat" around your farm when it's small, so no weeds or rocks are within 3 tiles of your stuff. When your farm is large, just take out the 1-2 things whenever they pop up.
