Will dialogue mods work in multiplayer?

I wanted to play Stardew with my friend using a dialogue overhaul mod for certain characters. Will they have to install it too?

Any mods have the chance to break the game. Check the description on the mod to see if it's updated for beta 1.3, and see if anyone has asked in response to that mod (in the forum threads if you're looking in the Stardew Valley official forums, or on the notes on it at Nexus mods, or wherever else you're looking) to see if anyone has asked if both parties need to have it installed. It's very possible that a mismatch between your game and your friend's may crash either of your games, and even if you both have it, if it's not updated to be 1.3 beta compatible, it could cause crashing for you both. But the maker of the mod should have a better idea of what changes they've made to the game and how their mod might effect multiplayer.
