Winter seeds dying off?
So, I've noticed something strange.

When I plant mass amounts of seasonal seeds, they don't always live. No thunderstorm occurred, and yet by the third day of winter, I had several dead patches of plants.

All of them came from Winter Seed packets, so I don't get what's going on there. Aren't they all supposed to be perfect for this weather?

Crops can't grow outside during winter. But can grow in the greenhouse. Unless you are growing them inside the greenhouse and they are dying could be a glitch or not watering enough ?

Winter seeds still need to be watered and have scarecrows nearby, of course. There's nothing special that you have to do with them, as far as I know. All my winter seeds do just fine.

They say they're planting Winter Seeds (the crafted seeds which produce Winter forage items on your farm), so there shouldn't be any out-of-season issues.

One of the winter seeds looks dead in its second growth stage... Its a brown triangle with little scrolls on the sides... Forget what it grows into, but every time I plant winter seeds I think "wth I know those sprinklers work!"

That's probably it. There's definitely been no storms, I'm using my all-year round formation, and the sprinklers are fine.

I have noticed that several winter (and other wild seed) crops look dead for several days. So, as long as the spot has not been cleared then just leave them alone and wait. Some turn overnight from little brown nothings into fully grown plants.

Winter (wild) seeds are meant to grow outside and can make you a lot of money if you want to plant, recycle into more seeds and plant those. Tedious, but, if you need the money still, then go for it. If you have sprinklers then they are plant - forget - harvest - repeat.

Crows DO NOT eat wild seeds - any wild seeds.

But, wild seeds do need water, even the winter ones, and even in the snow!

I basically put my winter seeds into the beds for my fall crops, so they're already set with good fertilizer and nearby sprinklers.

Indeed, they soon sprouted into healthy crops, so I guess it's the problem of their growing stages looking like they died. Is it wrong to want the sprites to be different so I don't keep making that mistake?
