Yes. You put in 1 fish of one type (and only one type) and over time they mulitply. Normally at around 3, 7, and 9 they will ask for things. When they are maxed out that is when you get the best items from them. Stugeons are good.
That's a good reason, it's also very valuable. I had Sturgeons mixed up though, they only give their roe.
Most other rarer fish give great things when you are at 9-10 fish in the pond.
Click on the fish pond and see how many it can hold and how many empty slots it has, if you have empty slots then you can add additinal fish without waiting for them to multiply on their own.
