Unfortunately that's all they have going for them. It's idiotic to use them for recipes or to eat them. They have no use. They're just vendor fodder.
The fruit bats are worth far less gold, but they're more useful because they give you hard-to-get tree fruit for the Artisan bundle.
Both cave options are kind of bad, really.
Valuable vendor trash, but yes. I really don't see what else you'd want to do with them.
When used to craft a Life Elixir, the resulting Elixir actually gives less health/Energy than the mushrooms that went into its creation. Even if it didn't, you could just sell the mushrooms and buy two or three Salads or whatever, you'd still come up ahead. And even then you'd be better off keeping the gold and just eating berries since they have little to no value.
At best, if you feel like putting in the time, you could use the common brown mushrooms to make Stir Fry. You get a small profit from doing so. I personally don't bother.
It's mind-boggling how so many mushrooms have so few uses.
Of the hundreds of requests I've had on the Help Wanted board, not a single time have I seen a mushroom...
George loves Leek. Leek is like four times cheaper than Fried Mushroom and, unlike cooked items which are always no-quality, can have quality which will impact its effects on George by up to 50%.
Ineed, it really is all about the money.
