How do you manually save?
I kinda like the game but the inability to save is a real problem.

Seriously? Tons of games only let you save at the end of the day. Animal Crossing. Zelda: Majora's Mask.

That's some serious nitpicking. Jeez.

Console games arent pc games, its very different.

Pc games crash alot more than console games, also if its a single save being constantly written over and something goes wrong during the write, there goes your entire save.

its a really really bad system.

Never crashes, except with steam big picture, using the steam controller. Its something with big picture or the steam controller.

Have an I7 4790k , gtx970, 16 gig ram, 850w power suppy,I have a very nice computer, not my computer.

Before someone says stop using big picture or the steam controller, I sit away from my computer while playing, so I can play on the bigger screen.

Stardew valley has never crashed for me. There is a back-up save file of the previous day if something does go wrong.

If you want to manually save, go to bed. It's not like there is anything time sensitive in this game.

This isn't really meant to be played with a controller either :S You lose a lot of precision doing so

Naw, I play with a controller just fine.
Minxy Nov 13, 2016 @ 9:12pm
All you do is sleep to save.

Stardew Valley has never crashed for me either, and you can pretty much run it on a potato.

As for saving, the days aren't very long, they're about 17 minutes real time.

And as for crashing as its writing a save, in your save folder in %appdata% there is a: "yourname_somenumbers" and a "yourname_somenumbers_old" file, the old file being the previous night's save.

so even if your computer imploded in on itself during the 5 milliseconds it takes to overwrite a 1-2 MB file, your previous day's save is intact. ( but your computer sure isn't :D )

EDIT: he's playing with a steam controller, not a thumbstick, the touchpad is pretty decent I hear

68 hours in, 0 crashes so far. This game doesn't crash much, I guess.

wow a negative for that? talk about retarded. negatives should be given to buggy crap or no mans sky.......not just because a game has a different save feature.

Oh so the controller is even worse then the mouse issues I have? I have to make sure my mouse is in the right spot all the time, or I miss... when I hit. Or my character will swing his sword the wrong way.

And yeah, his issue should be a negative review for steam big picture mode, since thats the problem. Not stardew valley.

I don't even know what big picture mode is. I've never used it, but SV is fullscreen. Is big picture mode, like... you can play on your TV, or something?

As for a controller: I've never used one, but my friend tried playing this with an XBOX controller and had trouble fishing and hitting (chopping, mining, watering) stuff diagonally. She didn't even know you could do stuff diagonally.

As for your personal problem: Do you have the highlighted square turned on? That shows where you'll hit... Like, there's a red box around the map tile your axe or whatever will hit. I don't know why it's not turned on by default, but it isn't. As for the sword, they aim in the direction of your mouse, I think, not necessarily the way you're facing.
