Any way to get another copy of Robin's lost axe?

I was playing on multiplayer with a friend and we got the "Robin's lost axe" quest; I went down to the forest, picked it up, and gave it to my friend to hand to Robin. Her version of the quest was completed, but mine wasn't, obviously. I thought that we'd just do the reverse-- have her pick up her version of the axe and hand it to me so I can complete it-- but she can't find it where it's supposed to be. Not sure why, since we could both find and get Linus' basket in fall. Does the axe have an index number that I could use debug commands to get in SMAPI, or should I just consider it a lost cause and give up?

You handed the axe to your friend and she turned it it. When she did the one that spawned for her disappeared as she did not have the quest active so she cannot find it now to pick up for you.
