Woodskip on Forest Farm?

On my first visit to the Travelling Cart there was a pufferfish and a sandfish on sale. That would give me a good start to the specialty fishing bundle, especially as I am on a Forest farm which supposedly provides woodskip.

I say supposedly because I fished all day and only caught a dozen smallmouth bass to go with about 50 assorted trash.

Is there some restriction on catching woodskip on the Forest farm? For instance are they only present after the secret woods have been accessed?

Or did I just not try hard enough?

Try and try. You have a higher chance for trash items than the fish on the farm. Woodskip is most prevalent on non rainy days.

The Woodskip is 15-27% chance in the secret woods, will be lower on the farm.

Update - I caught a woodskip on my farm the next day. Willow Rivers was right, just keep trying.
