Color coding works yes. I currently use Green for veggies / Brown for forrage and mushrooms / Blue for fish / Silver for ores / Black for weapons bombs armour and rings / Dark Grey for artifiacts (I save artifacts because sometimes fish ponds ask for wierd things like dwarf scrolls lol) / etc... Then also sub-category sorting (for example - I cook all the recipes and store these separated into buff and non-buff meal chests...
But soon I run out of colors to use because i store a LOT of stuff and like to be super organized...
I really wish we could at least put the signs on a wall like in Minecraft to save a floor space that a signpost would take up..
But what if we wanted to fill a shed with chests (then there is not always a wall to put a sign)
Or if the signposts could be made 'non-physical' so they could be walked through...
But Champion Gamer's suggestion would really be my first wish. Because to be able to enter a short word 'hover text' (as opposed to a permanent text bubble) would be very handy for players who work best with this style of inventory management. It would not require building signposts with resources and would not take up floor or wall space or make extra cluttered appearance.
Yeah i like the idea a lot!
