I've been trying to get 10 hearts with mainly everyone: Alex, Marnie, Lewis, Emily, and Abby
I want to marry Abby but it took me like 1 season in-game to get 2 hearts with her. I give her the purple gem and other things the forums say she "likes" but it doesn't seem to get me very far. Any suggestions?

Amethysts really are the best thing you can give her. They're relatively common and cheap and she loves them. The only things she would love more would be Silver-quality and Gold-quality Pumpkins, but those are quite valuable.

A heart is 250 points.

Whenever you give her an Amethyst, you gain 80 points.
An Amethyst on her birthday will give you 640 points (more than two and a half hearts) so make sure you don't miss that.

Talking to her will give you 10 or 20 points per day. Not talking to her will cause you to lose 2 points per day.

All in all, two Amethysts per week and talking to her 4 days out of 7 should yield at least 200 points. A whole season would give over 800 points, more than three hearts.

You've probably been skipping gifts, giving her things she merely "likes" instead of Amethysts, or not talking to her often enough.

I found that giving her choco cake was what worked best. You can get 3-4 eggs a day with just a normal coop, and flour and sugar are pretty cheap too (200g for one of each). But I happened to get the recipe and I dont remember when. other than that though the amethysts are the best thing to give.

Technically the Amethysts are superior to cakes because giving away an Amethyst only costs you 100g while cooking a cake costs you a lot more (one mayonnaise, one flour and one sugar).

However, if you're farming a lot and never mining, sure, it's a perfectly viable option.

I would have considered them too expensive as general gifts, but now that you mention her birthday... 800 points is a lot more than 640 points. For that one occasion, it might be worth it even if you're not doing too well on gold.

Problem is I can't seem to find many Amethysts. I mine maybe 2-3 days a week.

I'd don't know if you can farm gems in the mines like you do gold or mushrooms. For mushrooms (and I think ores), if you find a good floor, go back to the top of the mine after you finish that floor, then go back down as close to that floor as you can. E.g,. if it's level 93, go to level 90 and work your way down to level 93 again, then go back up when you complete that floor. I don't know if that works for gems but it's worth a try if you're trying to get lots of amethysts. Also, if it's a 0 or 5 floor, you may have to use the ladder to go up instead of the elevator. I don't know if the elevator resets the floor or not.

Hmm I'll try that if I find an amethysts (unlikely I will find one) but i will keep that in mind

Well... I have always had a large surplus of Amethysts, but then again I never tried to marry Abigail. I would imagine that having a use for them (especially twice a week, three on her birthday) would have depleted my supply somewhat.

Unfortunately, there is no "gem floor" like there is a mushroom floor. They're pretty much random. But at least you can easily identify the rocks that drop them thanks to the dark purple spikes coming out of them.

If you don't have Amethysts, well... Pumpkins and Chocolate Cakes are more expensive, but they'll do.

I just bought like 40 pumpkin seeds and they will produce pumpkins on abby's birthday. I also added fertilizer so the pumpkins are higher quality. I will try to find some amethysts. What level are they typically on? (I mean like what level area since they obviously are not in 0-5 levels)

Amethysts, along with Topazes, are actually the most common type of gem and can be found on any level.

I actually, found a gem node and an amethyst node on the first 10 floors of the mine

I just checked floors 80-120 bc I'll be gathering mushrooms today. In my game, no floor reliably dropped amethysts specifically but a few of floors regularly dropped gems of some type. 86, 88, 107 and 117. 107 and 117 also dropped mushrooms and gold so I'll be hitting those floors. Will report back as to whether they continue to reliably drop gems, mushrooms, and gold.

NB: The number of the floor will vary between games and even will vary over different days for the same player. I know that the mushroom floor is supposed to go down by one each day. E.g., if it's floor 88 today, it should be floor 87 tomorrow. I'm not sure if it always works out like that, though.

If you really want to produce amethysts badly, then finish the community center bundles in the Boiler Room. You'll get a Chrystharium (Or something named kinda like that). You'll be able to put an amethyst in there and every couple days it will spit one out. To make more of those though, you'll need Iridium Bars, so it's not cheap to "create" amethysts or any other gem. I have 3 right now and I produce diamonds. About every 3 or 4 days I'll be able to "harvest" 3 diamonds which is nice since I like to give them to my wife (Emily). I haven't hit the end of my second year on this account and I have gems coming out of my ears.

Crystalarium is actually from completing the last Vault bundle, which unlocks the desert as well
