Help!! I need clay! (RESOLVED)
Is the only way to get clay by chrushing worm things with getting a low chance of actually getting clay, or, is there a certain level of the mine you can get clay? (P.S I'm on level 40. so if it's level 2000 I can't reach it in time for winter)

Just dig around. You don't need to be in the mine btw

The worms are the best option because they very often yield 1 to 3 Clay, and you only need to use your hoe once when you see them so it's a low-Energy strategy too.

However, you could run around your farm hoeing every bit of farming soil available. Clay will pop out once in a while. I think it's a bit more frequent in the mine, though, even in levels 1-40, though of couse there's less ground to hoe.

Plus, you must have some Clay already. You've been to level 40 of the Mines so it's not your first day; you'd have to have been insanely unlucky never to get any on your farm, in worms or in geodes.

Should be very quick to get up to 10 Clay.

You can randomly get clay from using the hoe on any tillable soil. That includes the beach, the railroad area, the patch behind Robin's farm, and your own farm. Maybe not the town itself. I don't know if tilling the soil in the mines has a higher chance or not. There's a lot of easier soil to access.

I'm not sure either, but whenever I went Artifact-hunting, I always came back with 25-40 Clay. Lots of stuff popping up everywhere.

I tried on the beach once, tilled 72 tiles and got absolutely nothing. I just assumed it couldn't actually generate any Clay. It's sand, after all.

Thanks!! All of you. I feel REALLY unlucky now.

I find randomly tilling soil the easyest now. Already got 10!

I've gotten clay from the beach before. Wiki also says you can get clay from sand. The desert is a good place too, but that's late game. I've also gone artifact hunting in the mines never got that much clay. Maybe you tilled much more soil than I did.

I haven't tried this recently, but this is what I used when gathering the clay for the 800 kegs I have on my farm. There is/was an exploit where if you hoe a random patch of dirt, and you get clay, if the next tile that you hoe is the tile immediately above, you will get clay 100% of the time, and you can repeat this all the way to the top of area. I still have the video bookmarked. Here it is in case this still works: https://youtu.be/dTQAGokTZCc
