Keyboard only
Hey, I was looking at this game to play on my laptop and hate using the trackpad, so I'd be using keys only. Is it possible to play this game with keys only? I'd be OK to use trackpad to navigate inventory etc if needed, but in general I'd like to sit and use keys.

Everything is mappable control wise. So you can very much play without a mouse. You can interact with things by pressing "c". So things like watering and sword swinging is no issue. The only thing you will need a mouse for is like you said the inventory .. and to open doors and go down ladders. Basically mouse clicks are needed for interaction with static items in the game. Though you can also play the game with a controller with a bit of a learning curve.

Errrr... For the most part, I think you can, but for precision such as planting seeds or placing paths, or any difficult combat later in the game, you'll want a mouse or a controller.

You can buy a mouse for your laptop fairly cheap, I think $10 or so in a lot of places? Trackpad is truly horrible for most games, I don't get why people do it.

The game is definitely intended to be played with a mouse, though.
Ahh ok, thanks a lot guys. Sadly I don't have room for a mouse as I use laptop on the sofa etc. I do have a controller but for anything beyond shooters or racing games it's a pain to bind things and normally not enough buttons.

Ah memories. My first PC (as in it was actually mine, not the family computer) was a Dell Insprion 1100 laptop (yeah, I'm kinda old). Didn't have a mouse for a good 6 months, I quickly became a master on the trackpad...then my friend got me Half Life lol...mouse bought days later haha

OP, why dont you get a wireless one and then just put it on a notebook or magazine on the sofa?

I use an Xbox 360 controller and it works great, not a single complaint I can think of.
