Buying lost items isn't appearing anymore
I lost some items to the mine and got back my Ruby's but now I cant get anything else back. Am I only able to get one thing back or is there a cooldown, and if there is, how long of a cooldown.

If a person dies in the mine they may loose one or more items. The item Recovery Service will return only one item of your choosing and the remaining items from that death will be forever lost. Then the next time the person dies in the mine again the same thing happens - only one item of choice from the new list of lost items will be recoverable. There is no cool down, Only one lost item of choice is recoverable each time the person dies in the mine. The items do not carry forward to the next death.

Is this built into the code or is there just no chance on getting multiple items back. I'm using the Nintendo switch edition if that changes anything.
I play this on PC and also on Switch and seems to be same result on each. One work-around option would be to exit the day without saving the game and the death event would then have never happened upon restarting the day.. along with any other progress you had made that day. Items like expensive swords or hard to get earned rings can be re-purchased separately. I am unsure if upgraded tools can become lost by death in the mines but the basic tools can not be un-recovered if dropped and will reappear the next day apparantly. But yeah just no chance otherwise on getting multiple items back unfortunately in my experience including the latest version.
Dying in the mines, randomly loosing item (stacks) without control and even the option to get only one item (stack) back is just bad game design for a casual game. When in the mines you usually have different stacks of food, buff food, bombs and also your high quality pick axe and weapon, which may cost a lot of time and money to replace. So the option to restore only one item is usually not enough.
Since the decision to replay the day has to be made immediately to not loose the auto save of the day, I do what many other players do : when I die in the mines, I exit and simply replay the day.

Maybe it might have been better and easier if the game would have implemented a mechanic as in other games with save points or in movies like "Edge of Tomorrow" or "Groundhog Day" right from the start :
Die in the mines and simply wake up in your bed in the morning at 6am and have to replay the same day. (Maybe with a player comment : "I had a nightmare (e.g. that I died in the mines) ... fortunately it was only a bad dream.")
This would have avoided lots of bad mood for uncontrollably loosing items.
