The problem with the house
Hi guys ! Since we need to upgrade our house to the maximum to make all the content available ( Pam's new house and the movie theater ), I would like to know if in the future it will be possible to cancel those upgrades.
Irl I don't like big houses and it quite annoying to have to do it in the game, it give us less freedom. Since we can "dismiss" our children by transforming them into doves and then divorce, it would be cool if we can then cancel our house upgrade and keep having the new content unlocked.

I've began a new game where I'll choose Jojamart instead the community center because all we need is money for the movie theater but then againt we still need to upgrade our house for Pam's new one.

PS : Sorry if my english is bad. I'm French.

I don't think this will happen.
The upgrades don't change all to much anyway. The kitchen is usefull and everything beyond that can be ignored (as in, you can ignore the space).

Ofcourse if you want a small house, you could just build a co-op cabin and sleep in there.

Yep I know, but for a full immersive experience it's not very good in my opinion. I'll keep my oldest save where I'll unlock everything ( upgrade house, children, Pam's new one and movie theater ) and then I'll continue in my new one where I'll stay single and I'll choose Jojamart since you can unlock the movie theater with money and too bad for Pam's house.

I don't know if this will work but have you tried buying a cabin from Robin and using that instead of the house?

No but then again it will be a problem for me about the immersive experience since the main house will still be there. But my new save with Jojamart will be good since Pam's new house doesn't add any features I don't care of her.

It would be very nice to split the house upgrades from the community upgrades, add more community upgrades, and let us pick the order.

Like, many players don't want a nursery, but they do want a cellar. Or they want a small house, but not the rest, and want to give Pam a house.

Letting us pay Robin to add more community upgrades would be a godsend as well.
- Let us transform the fences around town (bus stop, community center, etc.) by paying Robin and providing 100 of the necessary supply. (100 iron fences, hardwood fenced, etc.)
- Add shortcuts in the way of widening paths for our horse, adding new stairs, widening bridges, removing/relocating trees and bushes, etc.
- Add more decorations around town, like a pelican statue in the town square, upgrade the park's fountain and playground, upgrade the boardwalk at the beach, etc.

How about you and Linus are eccentric millionaires and you're renting the big house out to rich international film stars as a hideaway. You can have the cabin and the film stars can have the big house.

Lovely ideas. Almost endless potential. I don't want the nursery but want the cellar. Don't need the bedroom but do want to cook. I would love those options
Rather than canceling the upgrade of the house, I hope that there can be more choices of decoration, all the furnishings in the room can be moved and the orientation of the furniture can be changed. It would be more perfect if you could set the space layout of the room yourself.

Iirc you just need to finish the community center to unlock the Theater?
UC-21 Mar 22, 2020 @ 3:31am
By choosing jojamart yep, all you need is money. But if you choose the community center, you will also need wine with silver quality, and the only way to do that is to fully upagrade your house to unlock the cellar.

you dont need the cellar for the movie theater, just insert a rainbow shard instead

The theatre isn't part of the Community Center. You can finish the CC without a fully upgraded house. And regarding the silver quality wine, you could forego that one and do the other 5 options. You get 6 options and are only supposed to do 5.

Heck, I finished the community center several times without upgrading my house in several of my saves. And I was only in my first house upgrade when I finished the movie theatre in my most current save.
