are preserves jars better than kegs?
i know for certain crops, the jelly/pickles you make from them can be worth more than their wine/juice equivalent, but since preserves jars also produce much faster than kegs, could this lead to a higher gold/day?

preserve provides fast turnaround for money. if you need money fast, use jars.

but there comes a point where the jars will overconsume your product, and cause a halt in production of resources. thats the point where you need to switch over to kegs, and why, over a long period of time, the kegs will provide a more sustainable product.

jars will get you started. kegs will carry you to the end.

there you can see what is mathematically better

yeah, but if you compare

and
https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Keg_Productivity

you see that even things like starfruit and ancient fruit have higher gold/day in preserves jars.
obviously there's also the factor of crop growth time vs cooking time, but idk.

im sure theres some objective math out there but to me its more of a preference, like me I have just shy under 500 plots and four sheds, two with preserves and two with kegs, but one keg shed I keep purely for my ancient fruit wine. Basically, I fill the kegs first and then stuff the remainder in the preserves jars until I run out and I usually do before the next harvest is ready to be pulled up depending on the crop. Like in spring I tend to do strawberries and I don't put those in kegs at all because the juice doesn't sell as well.

hm yes jars are processing quickly. if you want money fast then this is the way. if you want to best profit then you need to wait

It also bears noting that Booze Baron sounds far cooler than Pickle Magnate.
