Seriously, change the "no-milk" message
Instead of a scrolling message that requires a double click to remove, just "ohoh" beep at me.

Thanks.

... I don't know what you're talking about? Are you saying the message when your cows have no milk, or when you try and put something other than milk into a cheese maker, or what?

I can't think of a single message in-game that requires a double click to remove. All the ones on the left side of the screen fade away after like ten seconds or less...

When cows/goats have no milk, you click to stop the scrolling and click to remove the message. The scrolling *could* be ignored but it's a PITA if you misclick the animals (particularly when they're moving) and the message keeps coming up.

Try it with a shed full of cows/goats and come back at me.

One of the reasons I dislike animals. Plus they aren't all that profitable and take up loads of time and space. I've done two playthroughs, and in both I end up selling most of my animals after I complete the achievements for them.

I usually keep about 2-3 chickens.

A deluxe barn full of goats (12), with milk converted to cheese and matured in the cellar is a big money spinner for me. (iridium+artisan = $1050)

The problem here is during winter, with all of them in the barn with some producing and some not, and moving around while trying to milk them, turns it into a ragequit event really fast.

Perhaps even putting a green cross on milk-full animals (like crops) when you hover would prevent trying to milk empty animals and reduce the problem without changing the messaging?

I find the message annoying as well. I have 9 animals in my barn and it seems pretty full. I don't think I'd go 12. I'd build another barn and split them up. It should be easier with less animals in the barn. On the other hand, upgraded barns aren't cheap.

Oh, now I get what you mean. Sorry, I thought it was one of those small messages off to the left, like when you pick up an item or a holiday starts. I forgot it was a text box you have to click through.

Yeah, a +sign on the animal or something would be great. Or even having us hover over them to see their names, or something, to remember who we've milked. Or put the cows in a stall, so they can't run in circles.

That said, I found a workaround for this. I realized that cows take up a 2x2 square. So if one cow has its head up another cow's ass, just click either the first cow's backside or the first cow's head. You only get that message if the same cow is on the same square. A similar thing can be seen, you try and milk a cow, and simultaneously pet another.

Miliking is a PAIN! Good idea with the plus sign "or something" would be real nice.

Yeah, me and all my friends who play Stardew Valley also agree that it's really annoying when dealing with the Barn animals.
Especially when you have full barn, and after milking / petting 6-8 animals, you forget who already get petted / milked since they keep moving.

I used "Loved Labels 2.0" Mod, It adds a tooltip label near your cursor when you mouse-over a pet or farm animal letting you know if they have been petted or not.
It only labels the one you petted (not milked), but since I only milking them after I petted them, at least now I have the information which one I already handle. (sry for bad english, hope you understand).

it requires "SMAPI" though, so you need to learn abit about modding before you can use this (probably around 15-20 min learning), but turst me, it's really worth it.

Also this mod is one of the most download mod, so I think most people have the same problem.

hope this information help.
