Favourite map
Having a variety of starting maps certainly adds to the replay ability of Stardew Valley, but what is your favourite map?

For me I prefer the Forest map because of it's extra forage and permanent hardwood supply, and it also has excellent fishing with walleye and woodskip available. Second would be the Hilltop map with copper ore available from day one and although the river is poor for fishing it is very convenient for crab pots.

But what I would really like to see is a new Ocean map added to the game. Wouldn't it be great to have your own beach for forage and be able to catch ocean fish from your farm.

I love the Forest farm, too, for its advantages but mostly, I think, because it feels most like home.
An Ocean farm would be cool, though a bit tricky because of where the farm is on the town map.

Yes I did think of that. I imagined the sea coast extending up the far western side of the map almost to the edge of the desert. Then if you look at the town map for the Riverland farm you'll see that a major river enters your farm through the hills to the NW. If that was made an arm of the sea instead (like a fiord) there could be a beach on the western side of your farm, just below grandpa's shrine.

For aesthetics, definitely the forest farm. The foraging potential is also nice, of course. But I usually play on the standard farm, because it's easy to fit two Junimo Huts with maximum crops around them.

Forest farm for the looks. If i want to go for a optmized playthrough then the Standard farm.

Standard farm for efficiency but I mostly like the Forest farm. Mainly for the looks but the extra hardwood is handy plus the extra forage-ables are nice. Don't much care for the Hilltop or River ones, though they are good if you want a bit of a challenge and have yet to try the Wilderness farm.

I like the water one. I've only used standard and water so far, and I think the water one is easier to organize and plan your farm. For example, a small island can be used for trees, while the bigger island holds crops, and the island that holds your house can also hold all your buildings.
