Female Slimes From Slime Eggs

So I've read up a bit on the wiki about the slime hutch and incubating slimes but whenever I incubate one I never seem to get a female slime.

Are there different spawn rates for females from eggs than in the caves or am I just stupid unlucky? Are there different slime egg types (Other than the colors)?

Help?
