Exploiting the journal allowed players to stay up past 2am without limit. So e.g. you could explore skull caverns without limit in one run as long as you wanted, going down to level 500 or 1000, just for fun. This is a completely different experience compared to doing the standard skull cavern bombing runs all starting from level 1. It is not about money or reaching level 100 which is doable with bombs (and some luck or stairs) anyway. Money in SV soon becomes boring since you can easily make lots of money and there is not much you can buy with all those millions, e.g. you can't buy a second greenhouse. And there also is no need for prismatic shards beyond the first two (for galaxy sword and museum).
By fixing the exploit, the dev took away this option / experience and implemented a hard 2am wall which nobody can pass without using mods.
Those players who never knew about it or never intended to stay up longer than 2am were never affected by the exploit. Those who used it were never in competition with other users and were not hurting anyone. So unless there were some relevant (but unknown) technical reasons, fixing the exploit was simply removing an unintended but well used feature from the game without benefit and forcing players to use mods to get the feature back.
OP: There were unintended mechanics in the game I abused and now they're gone boohoo.
+1
How did you do it? I would also like my exploits back. I liked the options it gave me.
"Mushroom cave nerfed I can't get huge money!" "Fishing exploit removed I can't get huge money!" "Skull Cavern nerfed I can't get easy iridium to last me forever!"
110k in spring year one is an absurd exploit. Just cheat the money in and play on 1.5 ffs
Total Earned 200K+ and with 100K+ (Start of Summer Year1) in hand is definitely doable in a pretty casual way.
Just takes some knowledge of the game, early game fishing to get some faster money and eventually get as many strawberry seeds and making sure you have enough quality sprinklers to water them.
Sure, but this guy is talking about 110k like as soon as the mine opens.
