What is the point of the golden scythe?

I just found it in a cave near the quarry and all it says is that it's better than a normal scythe. but they look identical in usage to me

It has a radius that's 2 tiles more than the standard scythe and deals more damage if you were to use it as a weapon.

I think DangerouslyFunny found that it has a higher hay recovery rate when you cut grass. I was hoping it would give a built in "harvest with scythe" ability though...

cutting grass with the normal one requires more swings to cut the same amount as the golden.

also for good or bad depending how you want it to go when you cut wheat with it
some of them instead of becoming 1 wheat become 2 hay in your inventory.
