Multiplayer Invite Code missing

I've had this problem since I started playing stardew valley, a year ago i think. I'm not opted into any beta I know.
The option in Co-op to Enter Invite Code is missing. The Show Invite Code in the ingame settings is missing as well. Here are the following solutions I've tried to no avail:

1. Un/re-installing the game.
2. Un/re-installing steam.
3. Downloading the C++ 2013 Redistributable (refered in a webpage)
4. Joining the game through the friend list. This only opened Stardew Valley and then nothing happened after entering the menu.
5. Checked data integrity.
6. Set profile settings to public.
7. Added Stardew Valley to firewall list of execptions.
8. Joined through a friend inviting me to play. Same outcome as 4.
9. Added cabin before joining.
10. Ran Stardew Valley and steam "As Administrator"
11. Played on a different computer.

None of which worked.
It drives me nuts that I can't cix the problem; It's already been so long.

Problem persists. Still can't connect through invites. Only through LAN

me too, and I dont understand why. Have you tried contacting stardew valley support? If so, care to share what they have said?

I haven't tried contacting support. Haven't been playing stardew valley since a few months ago. Maybe when I start playing with friends again, I will contact support. Hopefully if I start playing again, this might be fixed

I actually accidentally fixed the problem myself after contacting support lol. For some reason, i went to go backup the game on my computer so I think it downloaded another file as a backup or something idk. anyway, when i opened up the game again, it updated and suddenly the option to send an invite code was there and multiplayer works fine now. I have no idea how and why, just grateful that it did :)
