What is the hardest fish to catch in your opinion?

scorpion carp by far, worse than every legendary except maybe the glacierfish

lava eel is pretty bad, made exponentially worse by all the trash you catch before even having a chance at catching one

worst "normal fish" is probably lingcod, because he's just as bad as octopus and squid, but he's there ALL DAY, in both the river and lake, so you can only really fish in the ocean reliably during winter

Ice pip. I took me few in-game days to catch one. Lava eel been caught pretty quickly. Scorpion carp too.

Yeah, the ice pip just took so long to find. And the scorpion carp was pretty hard.

The one I currently can't catch is the hardest one. There's 1 at the mountain lake and definitely one at the beach. Probably at the river too. I hate fishing but I keep trying! lol I am a little better at it than I used to be. Used the Training Pole for 3 levels and into the 4th. Right now though the fish and I hate each other, maybe tomorrow we won't. Don't bet your life on it though. lmao

The lava eel took over 100 casts of collecting trash to finally get a bite. By far the worst. Pufferfish used to be my nemesis since I ended up trying to catch it with a low fishing skill my first couple times playing and it never went well.

Scorpion carp for me. Found it even harder than Legend, Octopus, Eels, etc. It mostly comes down to behaviour and not speed, since with behaviour I can anticipate movement and align my bar accordingly, thus I found fish like Legend/Crimsonfish easier and octopus is predictable. According to wiki the hardest non-legendary are Octopus, Lava-Eel, Scorpion carp and lingcod/ice pip, in that order.

Scorpion Carp is a dart fish thus he has more random movement than say an octopus (sinker) or most other hard fish.

The technically hardest to catch, imo, based on multiple playthrus: Scorpion carp, lava eel and The Legend.

Pain in the butt to catch because of necessary time/weather conditions: pufferfish, red snapper, octopus, albacore

The Glacierfish is a waiting game--you simply have to wait for when you catch one that zags and zigs in a way that makes it easy for you to hang on. Be patient, use food buffs and the cork bobber lure and you'll get it. The Legend is far more erratic. I remember hating catching it when I firstt got the achievement. It took forever.

I caught the legend fish try. I always use the trap bobber and its worked super well!
