Recommended Mods?
I just made a mods search for curiosity and see there are tons of them. Some look pretty nice and others are basically doing the whole job for you, imho something unnecessary.

So, first of all I'd like to point out that I don't want anything that is to some extent "cheating" or game breaking in some way. I don't want anything that reveals me what a npc likes or dislikes, its location, etc.

Just would like to hear what mods do you use or like in order to recommend it? An example of what I'm looking for?:downdoot::ok_ay:

This one just tells me how is my levelling bar going. It does not give me a substantial advantage or spoil me about anything imo. It's rathergood against anxiety.

Something I'd like to avoid?:downdoot::TryAgain:

It literally tells me all I'd like to discover by myself regarding npc and it's like reading wiki.

Also feel free to recommend singleplayer mods only, multiplayer mods only and/or both.

Thanks for further constructive replies. Will be reading you :foxy:

Edit: at the same time a question: If I install X mod/s, will it/they interfere with my multiplayer experience?

For mods affecting your gameplay, it really depends. Something that changes how things look, (Clothing mods, textures) there will be no problems in multiplayer. Something that changes the gameplay, ohhhh you're in for problems if everyone doesn't have the same mods.

I really enjoy using the Better Fruit Trees mod, it allows you to plant fruit trees outside of the farm if you so choose, also things inside the 3x3 area around the tree will not alter its growth. (No more waiting a year and a half for a fruit tree to grow simply because of an unseen acorn!) You can also change the settings for where you can plant the trees (You can keep it to on the farm only).

There's also an elevator mod for the skull caverns: It basically turns the skull cavern into the normal mine. Not difficulty wise, it's still full of death, but you don't need to struggle to get to or past level 14.

:drooling:That's so unfair given that there is no lift (unless the mod I know).

Nexus has the majority of them. I like to use https://mods.smapi.io/ to find mods for SMAPI. Very useful in finding which mods are currently updated, broken, etc. Plus some mods don't get updated by their original authors anymore but helpful modders will come up with an unoffical update for it instead, that list from that site will tell you were to find'em and such. So very helpful.

Hey, I just started looking for mods today myself, and I found myself a solid selection I'm using now. They all feel like "non-cheaty" mods (to me), eg. no skull cavern elevator, slow time, faster walking or similiar. Instead, it's a lot of quality of life. I'll make a list.

  • Eemie's Map Recolors - Nice recoloring, less yellow, I like it more than the original style
  • Darker Wood and Gold Craftables - same as above
  • Custom Critters + eemie.bee - I like bees flying around my bee hives :)
  • Eemies medieval farm buildings - Great retexturing of the normal buildings in medieval style, love it.
  • BetterActivateSprinklers - Lets you activate sprinklers by right-clicking on them. Great if you lost some soil or placed a new sprinkler.
  • GiftTasteHelper - Shows you favorite gifts on the calendar, saves me trips to the wiki
  • ConvenientChests - Lets you organize and quick stack to nearby chests. Also lets you use materials in nearby chests for crafting.
  • DeepWoodsMod - Secret area in the Secret Woods. Like the mines, but with wood!
  • NPCMapLocations - Shows NPC Locations on the map and also has a more accurate map. Saves lots of trips to the wiki.
  • UI Info Suite - All around UI improvements, highly configurable. Like showing how long crops take, smelting, your luck, daily events etc etc.
  • BetterArtisanGoodIcons - All Jellos and Wines have their own icons now. I love it.
  • RotateToolbar - Lets you switch between your inventory rows with the tab-key.
  • SkipIntro - Skips the start-up animation straight to the menu. Don't hate me ConcernedApe.
  • RotateToolbar - Lets you switch between your inventory rows with the tab-key.
  • CombatControls - Turns you into the direction you click. HUGE improvement for fighting.

And they all use smapi / content patcher, which makes using them easy. Install SMAPI (single-click), just copy the mods into the mods folder and you're good to go.

I'll leave a link to the mods I use in case you're interested. Just install SMAPI with "install on windows.bat" before, then copy the mods folder into your Stardew Valley game folder: {ENLACE ELIMINADO}
